There is many serene areas that you
can go cross country skiing in the Stowe & Waterbury area. Stowe Mountain Resort and Trapp Family Lodge have beautiful groomed trails. Stowe has 150km of groomed trails & 100km of back-country trails. We also have phamlets at the inn that will give you other options to enjoy your cross country experience in the Stowe and Waterbury area.

 

Stowe's oldest & largest Snowmobile Tour. Stowe Snowmobile tours feature scenic rides through the forests, as well as incredible views along the way. Stowe Snowmobile Tours takes you on 25 miles of trails through snow-covered, blue-spruce woods. It is truly a winter wonderland of fun. For this tour you will be riding on all new 550cc Polaris Snowmobiles with heated handle grips. These are guided tours and you can choose to ride as a single, double or as a passenger with one of their friendly and knowledgeable guides. They outfit you with a helmet and boots. At Umiak Outfitters, they have known for a long time that there is nothing quite like a peaceful hike through light, fluffy snow on a crisp winter evening. They offer 4 different tours: Moonlight Tour, Fondue Tour, Gourmet Tour & Ben & Jerry's Tour.

You can rent the newest models of TUBBS snowshoes from Umiaks retail location in Stowe. Tailor your own adventure to suit your group. Snowshoe rentals are full day or afternoon.

They also rent sleds for those willing to climb a little for some downhill excitement.

After a fun day out in the snow come home around five and you can nestle up to our open woodstove and enjoy the warm fire with hot cider or hot cocoa. Also at that time we serve appetizers to get you ready for dinner or a nice romantic sleigh ride!
