We
love meeting our customers and hope you'll
stop by when you're in northern Vermont. People
from all over the country come to our Burlington
store to "kick the tires", see what's
new, and share their gardening experiences.
The store is a great place to do all that
and more.
Inside, you'll find all of our catalog products
on display as well as hundreds of other gardening
tools, accessories from all over the world.
We use the products we sell in our own gardens,
and will be happy to help you select the right
trellis for your flowers, the ideal composter
for your backyard or a great book on shade
gardening.
Outside
our Burlington store you'll find over an acre
of beautiful display gardens featuring annual
and perennial flowers, vegetables and other
edible plants, wildflowers, roses and water
gardens. During the summer, we offer free
tours Friday to Sunday. Self-guided tours
are available every day until dusk.
Our
Product Design and Development team always
has some interesting projects underway, and
you're welcome to tour these gardens as well.
We're eager to hear about your own product
ideas and homegrown techniques.
Hours vary by season, but are
usually 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. weekends. The gardens are open from

Welcome!
Arcana does things the hard way. We propagate
and raise all our vegetables, annuals, herbs
and perennials on our farm in Jericho, Vermont
under the highest organic standards. Our long
time staff members produce jams, teas, herb
blends and other products from these plants
in our professional canning kitchen. Our resident
potter produces original works in our pottery
studio on site. Even Arcana's plant ID tags
are uniquely home grown: we write the descriptions
ourselves, print them on computer labels,
wrap them on popsicle sticks and dip them
in bees wax (not paraffin!). In short, we
are a local cottage industry. Our attention
to details shows in the quality of our products.
This
season, the farmstore and greenhouses open
to the public on April 24. We will be featuring
our 2000 varieties of plants and seedlings
at the farm, as well as our pottery and other
farm crafted products.

Founded
in 1981 as The Vermont Wildflower Farm in
Charlotte, VT, American Meadows has grown
into one of the largest and most respected
suppliers of flower seed in North America.
We currently service virtually all facets
of the trade, from large-scale commercial
customers, states and other municipalities
to stores, garden centers, and individual
home gardeners all over North America.
American
Meadows offers not only the highest quality
seed, but also almost twenty years of experience
in educating and learning from the horticultural
industry. We have helped literally hundreds
of thousands of gardeners establish and enjoy
abundant fields of flowers that offer years
of enjoyment, and memories to last a lifetime.
We are also one of the few companies in our
industry to employ a full-time horticulturist.
The original Wildflower Farm's location has
never changed. It's on US Rte. 7 between Burlington
and Middlebury, Vermont. We are open there
from early spring through December, seven
days a week, and today, as one of Vermont's
best-known tourist attractions, we welcome
over 30,000 visitors every season.

Founded
in 1980 by Tobi and Sally von Trapp, The von
Trapp Greenhouse has supplied gardeners
dreams for the past twentythree years on Waitsfield
Common in Waitsfield, Vermont. Tobi grew up
on a dairy farm across the road, so he has
a strong background in agriculture. Sally
has an Associate Degree in Horticulture from
Temple University in Pennsylvannia. Our combined
backgrounds have enabled us to carve out a
niche in central Vermont growing unusual plants
of exceptional vigor.
Unlike
garden centers, which purchase the majority
of their plant material as finished product
from outside sources, The von Trapp Greenhouse
grows all of its own plants from seeds, cuttings
or divisions. The local zoning ordinance precludes
us from selling supplies or accessories in
the
agricultural/residential zone where the business
is located. Consequently, all of our energy
is put into growing extraordinary plant material.
The von Trapp Greenhouse offers over 550 cultivars
of annuals , over 500 cultivars of perennials,
and about 100 cultivars of herbs and vegetable
plants.
Our
operation includes six greenhouses (approximately
14,000 square feet of growing space) and a
network of coldframes to provide protection
for frost tolerant annuals and young perennials.
